With the exception of the president and vice-presidents, all Benchers volunteer their time to the Law Society, which is a considerable commitment given the frequent meetings and committee responsibilities. The president is the chief elected official of the Law Society, and serves a one-year term in that position. The Benchers also oversee the implementation and administration of programs carried out by the Law Society staff.
